Add accessibility tags to PDF files to make sure that people who use screen readers and other assistive technologies can read and navigate a document with Tables of Contents, hyperlinks, bookmarks, alt text, and so on. Accessibility tags also make it possible to read the information on different devices, such as large type displays, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and mobile phones. In Microsoft 365 for Windows, Microsoft 365 for Mac, and Office for the web, you can add tags automatically when you save a file in PDF format.
(Ribbon Versions)QAT and RibbonAs with other templates, custom toolbars and menus can be stored in the normal template. As with other global templates, these customizations are available to all documents and templates, whether or not based on the normal template. In Ribbon versions, a representation of toolbar and menu modifications show up under the Add-Ins Tab. In Ribbon versions QAT modifications can be stored in the normal template. They probably should be stored there when they are using macros stored there. Likewise, Ribbon modifications can be stored there, with extra and unnecessary effort. The normal template is not the best place to create or store QAT and Ribbon modifications. SeeModifying the Ribbon and QAT.As an experiment, in Word 2010 I had Word create a fresh normal.dotm and compared that file with a normal.dotm that I had created by saving a document as a macro-enabled template that I then named normal.dotm and placed it in the user templates folder. The normal.dotm created by Word was 23K in size; that from the document was 13K in size. When the XML structure was examined, the one created by Word had extra components, especially a glossary folder. That folder contains information about, among other things, the display of styles and the Quick Style Sets.In conclusion, as far as I know, in the ribbon versions of Word, if you attempt to create your own normal template, you lose the Formatted AutoCorrect entries that come with a normal.dotm file created by Word. You do lose more, but I am unsure of what that more is. There is no reason I know of to try to create your own normal template. Instead, I advise modifying the template created by Word. Numbering TemplatesNote that there is yet a fourth kind of template - not covered in this chapter - is the numbering list template. For some unfathomable reason Microsoft chose to use the term \"template\" for its numbering lists as well. These are registry entries and not separate files, unlike the templates addressed in this chapter. See the Numbering chapter for more on these and Word's Numbering Explained for much more.

Once you have installed the QuickBooks program and created your company profile, you can open your company's profile when the program launches. QuickBooks opens to a list of QuickBooks company files on your computer. You can navigate this list using your up and down arrow keys. Once you have selected the QuickBooks file you want to work with, you can tab to the \"Open Company\" button and activate it with the spacebar key. If you have set a password on your account, you will be prompted to enter it here. When the file loads with the default home screen. This screen is very inaccessible but luckily, it is not needed; close it with Ctrl + F4. The items on the home screen can be accessed from the menu bar, which is presented as a Windows standard menu bar, so it's accessible to screen readers. After this, you should set some recommended settings to make QuickBooks easier to navigate with a screen reader. The first setting to deactivate the What's New setting in the Help menu. To do this, press Alt + H to open the Help menu. The What's New item is the second item in the list. If it is checked, press Enter to uncheck it. It is also recommended that you change some items in the View menu. You can open this menu by pressing the Alt + V keys. The first item you should check in this menu is the Hide Icon Bar item, listed fourth in the menu. Next, have QuickBooks only display one window at a time (this is the second to last item on the menu). 1e1e36bf2d
